Who We Are

Emi and Lee have always had a passion for swimming. They met teaching swim lessons at “Big Swim Lessons” while in college. They spent all of their time swimming, talking about swimming, or teaching swim lessons. They began to realize the pitfalls in “Big Swim” programing and worried about the lack of care for families and students being treated like a number. They decided to leave, but still wanting to teach, they began working at a smaller swim company. Before long they realized small programs have their own faults, like not being backed in science or child development.

That’s when they decided to start Swimming Ducks! A swim company that is dedicated to working with all families to make sure their kids are safe and efficient swimmers that love the water! We mix child development, safety, and swimming physics to maximize the best learning potentials for your swimmer. No more “Big Swim Lessons” that only care about profit, or “Little Swim” that works against the way children learn, leaving them in the same levels for years. We genuinely have a passion for children, swimming, and safe practices! Come swim with us today!

Emi grew up swimming at their families lake cabin in Montana and was always called a “water baby”. She was a lifeguard in high school and loved helping out with the swim lessons. She moved to Minnesota in 2018 to attend MSU of Moorhead, where they studied to become an English Teacher. While taking classes, Emi began teaching swim lessons and quickly fell in love. She loved working with the kids and seeing them become more confident in the water. She wanted to know more and do more and over her 5 year span, worked up to an assistant manager role. She graduated college with a B.A in English, is Red Cross Lifeguard certified, and is a Certified Pool Operator. She loves working with toddlers, singing silly songs, and making kids feel safe and confident.
